📝 Board Length and Wheelbase
The example in this guide uses a wood board that is 24" (2 ft) long.
This length is designed for skateboard decks with a 16-1/8" wheelbase.
If your skateboard deck has a different wheelbase, adjust the board length by the same amount.
Examples
| Deck Wheelbase | Board Length |
|---|---|
| 16-1/8" | 24" board |
| 16-1/4" | 24-1/8" board |
| 16" | 23-7/8" board |
If your skateboard collection includes multiple wheelbase sizes, you may need boards cut to different lengths. This may require additional stencil setups for each board length.
Mark the Center Lines

Use a measuring tape or ruler to find the center of your wood board.
Draw a vertical line down the center of the board from top to bottom.
Then draw a horizontal line across the center of the board so the two lines intersect.
These lines will create a center reference point for positioning the stencil.
Position the Stencil and Mark the Holes

Place the end caps onto the board.
Each end cap has an alignment groove located in the center of the overhang section. Align this groove directly over the vertical center line you marked in Step 1.
Next, place the center side covers onto the board. The alignment groove on these pieces should line up with the horizontal center line.
Once all stencil pieces are properly aligned, use a pencil to mark the screw hole locations through the stencil.
Also mark the large center Board Block hole locations inside the end caps.
These marks will be used for drilling in the next step.
Drill the Board Block Mounting Holes

Drill the 3/8" mounting holes for the Board Block.
You will drill two holes on each end of the board (four total).
The stencil openings are intentionally larger than the final hole size so you can use whatever marking method you prefer.
If you choose to start with a smaller hole, make sure it is centered within the stencil holes so the final mounting holes line up correctly.
Optional:
You may drill 1/16" or 1/8" pilot holes. These are not required, but they can make it easier to install the mounting screws in the next step.
Install the Screws

Using a screwdriver, drive the installation screws into all marked holes.
Install screws in all holes across the four stencil pieces.
If you drilled pilot holes in the previous step, the screws should drive in more easily.
Drive the screws until the pieces are securely fastened to the wood, but avoid overtightening.
Stencil Ready

Your stencil is now installed and ready to use.
You can now use the stencil to quickly and consistently mark Board Block mounting holes on installations.

About the Board Block Stencil
The Board Block Stencil makes it fast and easy to mark perfectly aligned mounting holes for skateboard deck wall displays. Instead of measuring each deck individually, the stencil allows you to quickly mark the correct spacing for Board Block skateboard wall mounts so every board sits straight and evenly spaced.
This tool is designed for anyone building skateboard deck walls, whether you're installing a single deck or creating a full skateboard wall display with multiple boards. The stencil helps ensure that your mounting holes are aligned properly so your decks hang cleanly and consistently across the wall.
If you collect skateboard decks or display skateboards as art, the stencil helps speed up installation and reduces measuring mistakes. It's especially useful when installing multiple mounts for skateboard deck wall art, gallery displays, or large skateboard collections.
The Board Block system is designed to make skateboards appear to float on the wall without visible hardware, turning your decks into a clean and professional skateboard wall display.
